| Court Watchers Position Description |

A Court Watcher is responsible for being in Criminal District Court, located at 2700 Tulane Avenue, on certain dates to observe and gather information on certain felony cases involving violent offenders and/or repeat offenders. The essential Position functions are: 1. Attend a Court Watchers’ training sessions. Sessions are held on the second Saturday of every month at the Latter Library, located at 5120 St. Charles Ave. Please call (504) 994-2694 for more information. 2. Monitor cases in particular courtrooms assigned by the Coordinator. 3. Become familiar with courtroom procedures. 4. Keep track of assigned court proceedings and submit your report to the Coordinator as soon as possible after the proceeding via the Court Watch NOLA drop box located in the Judicial Administrator’s office in Criminal Court or by mail to the Court Watch NOLA P.O. Box. 5. Keep in touch with Coordinator and ask questions if needed. |
